Sailboard Class

Wet and WildThe Sailboard (windsurfing)  is a challenging but exciting form of sailing combining the exhilaration of surfing a board with the freedom of catching the wind rather than the waves.

At HHSC, we have sailors on Windsurfer LT's, Bic Techno 293s and RSX sailboard, along with IQFoil foiling boards.  We just enjoy getting out for a rip in a good breeze, and working on our skills in the lighter stuff.

As a starting point the BIC Techno 293 has great performance and easy control.  The versatility of this sailboard can mean one board model from learning right through to racing.

The RS:X is the Olympic windsurfing class, and the design features a high technology rig, with carbon mast and boom, a ‘wide-style’ board that merges modern windsurf board design with a centreboard, thus enabling competitions to he held in virtually any condition from 3 to 30 knots. This means that the RS:X is always a dynamic, versatile class to observe, and racing is always close, exciting and visually appealin

The RS:X is the Olympic class sailboard. This is a high performance sailboard, but still highly versatile with two sizes of sail available for competitors. Men use a 9.5m sail while women and youth use an 8.5m sail. The sail, rig and board have been designed in conjunction with each other in order to to ensure a high level of design synergy.

When you get really keen, the IQ Foil is something else again!! Crazy speeds in light winds, all about 80cm into the air!!
