Sailing at Hunters Hill Sailing Club

Sailing at Hunters Hill Sailing Club is designed to be family friendly and inclusive of a range of skill levels catering for those new to sailing to those who have been sailing competitively all their lives and are seeking the challenge of a competitive fleet racing environment and of course those in-between who enjoy just getting out into the elements on our beautiful harbour and the camaraderie and satisfaction from getting around the course in front of your nearest rival.

While the Club operates all year round  the racing season commences in spring and goes through the summer months, concluding in early Autumn. This is supported by year round training in preparation of the season complimentary to the many various regettas which sailors are encouraged to attend with assistance from the Club. Information on many of these events can be found in the Events section.  The club sailing calender is available below.

Racing at the Club is controlled by the Commodore (who acts as or appoints an Race Officer of the Day) and the Sailing Committee. The Race Director provides guidance to class secretaries and assists the Commodore with race management. Class Secretaries are responsible for administering and promoting their respective classes and the Club generally. Further information on Racing at the club can be found in the Club Racing section and information on the classes sailed at Hunters Hill is available via the links on this page.

Members’ Responsibilities

The Club functions on voluntary labour. There are many tasks to be completed on race days, but with everybody pitching in they can all be completed quickly.
The canteen and Junior and Senior race duties are staffed by roster. Please check your email inbox, the Sailing program and club website and notice board for the roster dates.

Offers to assist with jobs around the club are always appreciated
