Saturday, 8 August – Frost on the Fore Deck: Our major winter fundraising evening! Plans are well underway for a huge night featuring a roast dinner, raffles, auctions, and famous entertainment.
On the water, best of luck to our keen winter fleet heading to Woollahra Sailing Club for the East Coast Regatta over the June long weekend. We already have a strong HHSC contingent registered—it’s going to be a cracker!
Our Alumni have been hard at work kicking sailing goals overseas too. Best of luck to Max, Henry and of course Sylvie who's rapidly moving up the world ranks in ILCA 6s. There's more below, but a massive fist bump to you all!
Finally, membership and boat storage renewals are now due. Please ensure these are paid promptly. As a reminder, all junior sailors must have at least one non-sailing adult registered as a member.
See you at the club on the 30th!

Interclub Round 1 WSC 📸 mainsheet.in
Welcome to Winter Sailing!
A great start to the new season saw 18 of our sailors across all fleets attend the first round of Interclub at WSC on 4 May.
Glorious weather ☀️ and a fresh N/E breeze meant the kids had a fantastic time on the water. Tight racing in the Open fleet saw four of our HHSC sailors feature in the overall top six: Luca finished 2nd, Sijia 3rd, Emma 5th and Milton 6th — as Milton said himself, he was “locked in” on the day!💪
In the Intermediate fleet, Miles kept the HHSC flag flying high, finishing 6th overall. A great effort from all the kids in the choppy and windy conditions.
Our Green fleet sailors also had an amazing time, getting used to racing in new waters. It was especially great to see little Henry Rose complete his very first Green fleet race!❤️
The prizes were unreal, with so many kids walking away with fantastic gifts. A huge thank you to all the sponsors , WSC and volunteers supporting the event. It was also fantastic to see the Interclub event featured across several sailing news and media channels, showcasing the great atmosphere and strong turnout across the fleets.
Round 2 is scheduled for this Sunday 24 May at RSYS — don’t miss out!

Frostbite series 📸 Alessio
We also held our first HHSC Frostbite event on Sunday 10 May. A light westerly breeze was just enough to get the fleet around the islands course. No matter how many times some of our more experienced sailors have done this course, they still seem to forget that the big island creates a few tricky wind-shadow spots 🤦🏻♂️🤣

Another major event is also coming up — the East Coast Regatta over the June long weekend (6–8 June) at WSC. This is the biggest event of the winter season! Registrations are now open and it’s a must-do event for all our Opti/ Ilca and 29er sailors. Register Here

Nicolas Livermore just finished act 4 and final of the Pallas Capital TP52 Gold Cup. The team of First Light were looking for a better result after act 3 in Port Stephens. Rounding off the eventful Gold Cup series in 2nd place on IRC.

With the match racing kicking off, Thomas Quinlan has progressed to the Skipper role within the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy, taking on some of the worlds best youth match racers throughout the season. Nic Livermore will also be continuing his youth match racing career trimming for his crew who are currently ranked 5th best team in the world. We wish the boys the best of luck before the first regatta of the winter season “The Kellet Shield” which Nic won last year.
Max Fisher and Henry Szenczy have been selected in the Nastro Rosa Tour to race their wing foils all across Italy, kicking off on the 2nd of June. We wish the best of luck to the boys for their Europe campaigns
