The Club's History
The Club was established in 1961. Initially based at Onions Point at the mouth of the Lane Cove River , the Club moved to its present site in 1971. Extensive voluntary work over the next decade saw the fitting out of the ground level boat storage facility. In 1985, a major fundraising effort allowed the Club to undertake the construction of the upper level. In 1996, the new sun deck was built with local government assistance, and two brand new rescue boats were purchased with members' funds. Over the years, the Club has achieved distinction in racing at State, National and International level.

The Club's Aims
To foster and encourage participation in the sport of sailing, particularly among youth and family groups. The Club demonstrates a commitment to this aim by the provision of a strong training program that seeks to develop sailing skills in members of every age and skill level. Members are expected to reciprocate by assisting with the smooth running of the Club and ensuring that the majority of the work does not fall to a small group of members.

Club Administration
The Club was incorporated in 1986 and its affairs are governed by its adopted Club Rules and administered by a Management Committee, which is elected at the Annual General Meeting.
A Sailing Committee headed by the Commodore plans and oversees the Club's racing and training activities.
Subcommittees are established as required to manage particular aspects of Club life.
Committee meetings are held monthly on the first Monday of each calendar month. The Sailing Committee meets at 7.00pm , and the Management Committee meets at 8.00pm . These meetings are open to all members, who are encouraged to attend.
Minutes of the meetings are displayed on the Noticeboard during the season.
Newsletters are issued to members during the season to keep them informed of topical and future activities. Changes to the Club calendar and any other items of news will usually be announced at the Junior and Senior pre-race briefing and posted on the Club Noticeboard.

The Clubhouse
The clubhouse comprises a lower level for storage of over 60 boats and change-room facilities, included the fully renovated Women's change area opened 2003. Renovations continued in 2004 with a complete refit of the canteen with current plans to renovate the men's toilets.
The Canteen is located on the upper level along with the hall which is used for race briefings and social gatherings. The hall is available for hire for certain types of social functions by members and community groups subject to approval by the Management Committee (Click here for more details).

Boat Storage
Storage for boats is available in the Club in accordance with the conditions of the Club's Boat Storage Agreement, and is coordinated by the Boathouse Registrar. Club membership does not guarantee the right to boat storage and it may be necessary, due to demand, for a member to register on a waiting list pending a space becoming available. Allocation of racks is in accordance with the provisions shown on the application form. Inactive boats will be removed to reduce waiting lists in accordance with the Conditions of Boat Storage.

Car Parking
The local Council has instructed the Club that only the car used to pull out the rescue boats may be parked on the reserve. Other cars are to be removed as quickly as possible after disconnecting trailers. The area east of the Club house should be considered as the turning circle. Trailers may still be parked on the hardstand in the Horse Paddock.

Rigging Areas
The demand for rigging space is very high and the Club has allocated classes to specific areas

- Sabots against the western fence;
- Nippers in the middle near the water;
- Mirrors in front of the clubhouse;
- Flying 11's closest to the carpark; and
- NS14's in a row starting at the shore, beneath the trees on the eastern side of the rigging area.

Lasers, 29ers and any larger boats arriving on trailers or dollys are encouraged to use the area to the west of the Clubhouse, through the fence (the horse paddock).

Please keep a clear access from the car park to the area west of the clubhouse and also two channels open so that there is free movement between the water and the clubhouse doors.

Members are reminded that salt-water is to be drained from all boats before leaving the concrete ramp area, as it kills the grass in the rigging area.
